Saint Matthew was one of the 12 Disciples of Jesus and the first author of the New Testament.  He was born in Palestine in the 1st Century and worked as a tax collector in Capernaum.  Matthew then  became one of Jesus' 12 disciples and also one of the four Evangelists. He authored the first Gospel of the Bible's New Testament, now known as the Gospel of Matthew.  He is the patron saint of tax collectors and accountants. The Feast of Saint Matthew is celebrated each year on the 21st of September.

Grace to you and peace!

Welcome to the website of the parish family of St. Matthew!  It is good to have you visit.  St. Matthew’s church serves the communities of Tyrone, Fairburn, Palmetto, Union City and surrounding area. We seek to serve the Lord in our neighbor by sowing the seed of his word, shining the light of his love and living out the Gospel in word and deed.

We hope you find this website informative and helpful. Join us in prayer.  Participate in our ministries.  Come and live out the Christian life with us!  If there are ways that we may walk with you on this journey of faith, please let us know.  May the Lord bless you abundantly!

Peace,

Father Kevin
