Grace to you and peace!

Welcome to the website of the parish family of St. Matthew!  It is good to have you visit.  St. Matthew’s church serves the communities of Tyrone, Fairburn, Palmetto, Union City and surrounding area. We seek to serve the Lord in our neighbor by sowing the seed of his word, shining the light of his love and living out the Gospel in word and deed.

We hope you find this website informative and helpful. Join us in prayer.  Participate in our ministries.  Come and live out the Christian life with us!  If there are ways that we may walk with you on this journey of faith, please let us know.  May the Lord bless you abundantly!

Peace,

Father Kevin

THANK YOU parish family for listening and responding to the plea for sponsors for children in need around the world.

Because of you, at least 19 children, families and elderly, and maybe some more, have hope for their future. Each of them is worth the whole world, so congratulations on saving the world! St Matthews is truly testimony to the love, compassion and charity of the Catholic faith.

Are you a good steward of our Social Media?  The acronym T.H.I.N.K. invites us to consider what we are saying and sharing online, and whether it should be said?

T.H.I.N.K. stands for: True, Helpful, Inspirational, Nice, Kind.

True - Are we sharing factual Information or a rumor that was heard?  Is the source Trustworthy?

Helpful - Is the information we are sharing something that can be useful to another person?

Inspirational - Are we posting to inspire others about the good in our world, or are we posting to cut someone down or to simply rant?

Nice - Have we considered others' feelings when we include them in a status or post a picture of them?  Are we using it to make the world a better place or to humiliate or intimidate others?

Kind - What a great tool to compliment, show gratitude, and build the self-esteem of those we care about!

T.H.I.N.K. is a great way for us to be good stewards of our own social media use.  Gospel living has to do with the positive way we approach this life and bring God's light and love to others - and it couldn't be easier than sharing an uplifting status on Facebook, a Tweet of gratitude to a friend, or a beautiful image of God's inspiring creation on Instagram.  What a great way to build the Kingdom of God!
