The Teens of St. Matthew's have been incredibly busy! They are in every sport imaginable, it seems: from Soccer not to be confused with Football, and, Track, not to be confused with Cross Country, and Volleyball, and dance, and scouting, and band, and, school, and, family, and, and . . . And, yet...they have time to serve others! Our "Oh Baby" Collection Drive Sept. 25th, netted hundreds of diapers, plus baby formula, wipes, lotions, powders, etc. These items were delivered Oct. 22nd to the Genesis Shelter for Homeless Women and Infants. We also collected hundreds of dollars (reports of at least $1,000 in coins) from the "Baby Bottles for Change" drive to help the Advice and Aid Problem Pregnancy Center in Hapeville. They helped set up, serve, and clean up for the Italian Dinner Fundraiser, which will help defray the cost of future service projects and leadership training. They will be delivering sandwiches, socks and prayerful sentiments to the homeless with the"7 Bridges of Love" program in Atlanta in November. Trips to St. Francis Table and an Assisted Living Center are also being coordinated! Whew! What servant hearts!!!
May those they serve be blessed through their compassion and love and the generosity of the St. Matthew family!!! Thank you! |
