Celebrating Matrimony at St. Matthew
Entering into the Sacrament of Matrimony requires time and thoughtful preparation. At St. Matthew, marriage arrangements should be made 6-9 months prior to the wedding. The preparation process includes:
- calling the Parish Office to reserve the facilities for the wedding day
- scheduling an appointment with Fr. Valery Akoh or one of the Deacons to begin preparing for the wedding
- registering as a member of the Parish (if not already registered)
- regular practice of the faith by attending Mass every Sunday and receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation
- providing a copy of the Baptismal Certificate (for both bride and groom)
- completion of the FOCCUS compatibility inventory
- attending an Engaged Encounter
- meeting with the Wedding Planner

Remarriage
At times, Catholics wish to celebrate the Sacrament of Matrimony, but find that they must first resolve questions of a previous marriage or that of the intended spouse.
